Building a community?

The more communities that exist in the world, the better.

If you’re building one of your own, we’ve pulled together a growing collection of tools, platforms, and places to host in-person events.

You can also get in touch if you'd like to work with our team of community builders, or learn how to create one yourself 🚀

Host an event in a third place

Third places are the informal, shared spaces that exist outside of the home and workplace (our first and second places) - our cafes, libraries, parks, community centres, bars, and town squares. They are a neutral and common ground where all are welcome to unwind, create, and gather.

For community-driven events, third places tend to make the most comfy, inclusive, and affordable venues. They encourage us to switch off, be ourselves and connect with other humans, and are often free or low-cost to use.

Below are a few of our favourites! If you'd like to add yours, share it here.

Tools we recommend

A short list of tools and resources we use and recommend for running communities: both online and offline.

These are platforms we’ve found helpful for creating better experiences, staying organised, and helping members connect more meaningfully.
